How to bring Spring into your Wardrobe

New Englanders are no strangers to bizarre weather patterns. Most of us have a variety of different clothes for different climates because you just. Never. Know. My mother has been a true Massachusetts crusader in this respect- notorious for carrying several outfits at a time in her car. Preparedness is a virtue, right?

Of course in the first few weeks of spring it has been no exception. We have seen Tshirt weather, blistering cold, and a snow storm in just days from each other. However, April to most of us just means rain.

Even so- your closet doesn’t have to reflect that! Here’s some of this season’s most noteworthy trends to take your wardrobe by storm- no pun intended

1. Suede Apparel

Suede is no longer just intended for boots and bags- this type of leather has been making major waves for the last few years. Try it as a midi dress or a cascading top

Evers Collective In the Nude Suede Top, $45

 2. Pastels

Perhaps the most classic category of Spring hues, purple and pink pastels are this year’s favored. Incorporate pastel hues into jewelry, shoes or bags to add a feminine pop to your outfit.

Yves Saint Laurent, $563

3. Neutrals

Made popular by nude makeup and lipstick, neutral tones in your wardrobe are an absolute must-own. Neutrals pair well with something that will bring an equal balance- try black jeans with a nude top or leather leggings with a tan trench coat and nude heels.

Missguided, $51

4. Tassels and Pompoms

Tassels are coming up everywhere this season (see our most recent Trend Forecast blog)! Recently, Pinterest has been going nuts for DIY tassel accents (we love this step-by-step how-to on Tasseled heels here

However, you can also try tassel jewelry- wear them as earrings or a choker necklace! As for pompoms, keep them simple and add a neutral pompom to your keys or purse for a fun finish.

5. Vests and Trench Coats

A neutral trench coat will never go out of style- but why not try a long vest? When paired with open-toe sandals, these lovely pieces will give you legs for days! Their ability to be dressed up or dressed down is also a major plus. Think, vest to work- vest to happy hour.

6. Bucket Bags

Bucket bags can be found in any major designer’s lineup this season. These are definitely this season's essential it-girl carry-all. Try a lighter tone for a more feminine and Spring season feel.

Kate Spade, $698

7. Over-the-knee boots

We are OBSESSED with over-the-knee boots because you can literally pair these with any outfit. They are one of the more versatile of this season's trends, however they look best paired with a bohemian dress.

ASOS, $136

           8.Chokers

Nothing says bringing back the 90’s quite like a black choker! To give this a more elegant feel, try taking a long necklace and wrapping it around your neck or for a bohemian vibe use your tassels  (see #4)

Free People, $28
